Liz has been involved in education for over 41 years, as a retired Professor of Special Education and creator of the LIVES Program at SUNY Geneseo. Liz holds her Ph.D. in Special Education from University of Florida, her M. ED from College of William, and her Bachelor’s in Elementary and Middle Childhood education from George Mason University. She has seen the need to provide an alternative to public education as it has changed so much since she began in her field.
Liz has been involved with GCCS for several years, prior to joining the Board. The Lord has been faithful to meet the school’s needs and she sees GCCS providing a special ministry to families. Liz sees that the administration, staff, teachers, and board are there to support families in providing them with a quality Christian education. She is happy to support GCCS and this ministry as a board member and as its newly elected President. Liz is involved with many other ministries and memberships, such as the Clerk and Ladies Ministries Chairperson at her church, Faith Fellowship Church in Lakeville. She has been a part of the NYS Odyssey of the Minds program for many years as a board member and currently serves as Secretary to the Board. She has also been involved with Council of Exceptional Children as a past President for the New York Federation and Division of Career Development and Transition for New York. Liz has received awards for her teaching and leadership both nationally and statewide.
Liz also enjoys Traveling, Photography, Quilling, Puzzles and Reading. Liz and her husband, Rich, along with their beloved cats Kona and Zoe both support and encourage Christian education in our area.
